We were out Monday and had a good bite with nice yellowfin.
Today we arrived at the Dog spot at 0645am and we were hooked up within 10 minutes and we were done in 2 hours with 8 fat 50# YFT hogs. We left them chewing!!
They ate everything we put over the side. It was complete caos for two hours. Butterfish was the bait and they were at all depths.
We had one cut our anchor rode, wtfo, The fish are getting bigger, I’d say one was pushing 60# today!
We used only 40# flouro leader and the drags were light, what a fight with these big fish!
If you can get there before the weekend in this wind I highly recommend it.
It was snotty but not too bad, although a slow ride home at 0845am is not too bad.
