August 10, WMO/ Good chunk bite in the Wash
Day 2 WMO had one Bigeye at 170.5# that did not hold up on the leader board, Day 3 was slow.
Thanks to our crew for a great week.
Saturday, Aug 9th– Capt Todd chunked the Washington Canyon on Saturday with a slow pick of yellowfins, finished with 5. Lots of boats and close quarters. Flat calm and no current making it tougher than normal.
Sunday, Aug 10th– Back to the Wash and the chunk bite was good, only 6 boats. Pulled into whales and tuna eating chunks as soon as they hit the water, tunas and skippys right under the boat.
8 fattys to 68#. 30# flouro leaders made it fun. Butters and small bunkers were like candy, had a 300 blue marlin eat a hole butter and was off with 10#’s of drag. Leadered him finally after an hour. Hundreds of hammerheads cruising the area. Good chunk reports also from the Wilmington.
