Plan Ahead
Your Trip
Everything you need to know before you step aboard. Read through, pack right, and show up ready to fish.
Schedules
Departure &
Return Times
Full day offshore or canyon trip. Plan for approximately 12 hours on the water.
30-hour trip into the deep canyons. Bunks and cabin available on board.
The crew will contact you the day before to confirm departure times. Make sure they have a reliable phone number to reach you.
Be Prepared
What to Bring
We provide all tackle, bait, and equipment. Here is what you should bring along.
Food & Drinks
Pack whatever you want — the boat has a galley and the mate will cook your food while you fish. A cooler is on board for drinks. No glass bottles.
Sun Protection
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats. UV is intense offshore — plan for a full day in the sun.
Camera
Capture your catch. A waterproof case or phone pouch is a good idea.
Extra Clothing
It can be significantly cooler on the water. Bring a light jacket or extra layer.
Footwear
Non-marking shoes with grip. Bare feet or flip-flops are not ideal on a fishing deck.
Personal Tackle
All tackle is provided. Want to bring your own? Call ahead to coordinate with the crew.
After Your Trip
Fish Cleaning
Dockside fish cleaning is available after your trip for a separate fee — paid directly to the cleaner. Bring your own cooler to transport your fillets home.
Good To Know
How Mate Gratuity Works
The first mate is paid through gratuity, not a salary — same convention as tipping at a restaurant. Customary gratuity is 20% of the charter rate, handed directly to the mate at the end of your trip. It's not on the invoice, so plan for it in your total.
